ABOUT

A star of the professional Jewish music scene for over 10 years DOV brings his talents, unique style, and extraordinary voice to his first studio album.

DOV has always had a passion for performing. Even at a young age, DOV starred in numerous camp and school plays, and was always grateful when he would land the lead. DOV received a yeshiva day school education from the Hebrew Academy of Nassau County and spent his summers in various summer camps (Hillel, Nesher, Achva). Wherever DOV went, he was usually found humming a melody or whistling a  tune to himself. Like most artists, his best performances were usually in the car or shower. Post high school, DOV spent a year at Reishit Yerushalyim. While learning and growing in Israel, DOV discovered a love of the land of his ancestors, and it’s diverse and vibrant population.

DOV began professionally singing with Tizmoret, the Queens College a cappella group, of which he became President and lead his team in countless performances across the tri-state area.  It was not long after he joined, that he was asked to sing professionally with other groups, Kol Zimra, The Shabbatones, B’samim, and Harmonia. Traveling to perform across the United States, DOV began to make a name for himself. He was chosen to solo for Six13 as they sang at Jewish Heritage Day in Shea Stadium, a highlight of his musical career. DOV has also performed at Lincoln Center, and was runner up in a Disney World vocal competition.

A vocalist first and foremost, DOV recognizes the need for quality music to be used as a tool to inspire today’s Jewish youth. Merging biblical texts with contemporary pop sounds, his album is like none other. DOV was inspired by popular culture and the success of musical TV shows like American Idol and Glee to create a Jewish album reflecting those influences. His music appeals to all ages as he highlights universal themes within each song, such as the awesome power of prayer (ASEI), belief in G-d (SHIR HAMA’ALOT), and the safety of the men and women who defend our homeland, Eretz Yisroel (HU YIVARECH).
