Happy Holidays!!

Dear Friends,

During this holiday season, we all have so much to be grateful for. Like the song says “to make the most of this world that I live in, I’ll do the best with all the gifts I’ve been given”. With that, I want to wish each of you a happy and healthy holiday and a wonderful new year.

As far as music is concerned – I am pleased to present my latest project a Holiday Video to the song Tonight Tonight by the newest (and best) a cappella group out there – the Pella Singers. As you will see (and hear) I am featured on the video and I am sure you will all enjoy. The video was shown this week on the Today Show, and is a viral sensation. If you would like Pella to perform at your next simcha, event, or fundraiser – send me a message.

So with that – Chag Sameach to all.

DOV

Riding the Wave

So much has happened since my last post and the release of my first music video Hu Yivarech: A Song for the IDF Soldiers.

I am thrilled to report that we have reached 33,000 views (and counting). Thanks to everyone who watched, loved, and shared the video.

Hu Yivarech was featured as part of the Yom Hazikaron programs at multiple yeshiva day Schools including Ramaz, JEC, and Moriah. Additionally, it was my privilage to perform live, with the talented students at SAR. Check out this video of the kids and I, and read the story of an actual soldier named DOV who inspired our performance.

Now for some new news. This Sunday, I will be performing LIVE at the Celebrate Israel Parade. First, a pre-parade performance at Jewish National Fund (JNF) at 10:30 am, and then a second Live performance on their float, at 12. Would love to see you all there!

To march with JNF or to participate in the pre-parade festivities, RSVP by Wednesday, June 1 to Shira Berenson at sberenson@jnf.org or 212-879-9305 ext. 501. For more information, visit JNF’s Website.

Hittin the Stores, and the Air-waves

Where do I begin? First I must apologize that its been so long since my last post. So much has been happening in the last few months, its been hard to keep up. But this latest album news cant be kept silent any longer.

I am so pleased to announce my partnership with Sameach distribution. They have been such a pleasure to work with so far and I am honored to represent their brand and name in the highest quality of Jewish Music. A “distributor” is basically the people who bring my album to the masses. Thank you Benny Taubenfeld for taking a chance on contemporary Jewish-pop music. DOV: The Gift will be hitting stores any day now (if they haven’t already) – so be on the lookout.

When you have a chance- visit sameach’s website for other great Jewish music.

I will post a list of stores that the album will be in, so you can be the first to get one! Read the rest of this entry »

Don’t Stop Believing

I am so pleased to announce that after only 1 and a half weeks since the official launch of my website, dovmusic.com , we have had over 1,500 visits. That means you guys are really spreadin’ the word. Dont forget to tell your friends to visit the site. And now, you can also join my facebook group

Also – I hope you are all enjoying my first Single (to the right of this post) – Shir Hama’alot. This is probably the most energetic and my only dance track on the whole album. It was written and produced by my amazing friend David Ross. The words talk about where help will come from, when we are in our times of need. Ezri me’im Hashem, oseh shamayim va’aretz” – My help is from Hashem, maker of heaven and earth.

I know I still owe video clips and pics of the parade, and I hope to have those up at the end of the weekend.

All the best,

DOV

What a Week

First and foremost, I must give thanks to everyone who planned, shopped, ironed t-shirts, printed posters, stickered,  hung banners, re-hung banners, drove the bus, handed out frisbees and notepads – all for my debut at the Salute to Israel Parade. (pics and video coming soon!!) I know I am truly blessed for all of you, and I hope you had a great time. I would love to hear from anyone who saw me at the parade – and I hope you all enjoyed the show.

Now for the behind the scenes juicy drama: When I got to the Parade, and glanced at my giant ride (awesome btw) I had no clue what was about to unfold. I put my cd with all the background music into the player…. and….. silence. My heart froze. The back-up cd i brought also didnt work. There I was, 5 minutes to showtime – and no music to sing along with. Thank G-d my brother found a store and bought a new diskman, and with seconds before we were about to roll, we had sound. What an experience it was. Thank you to eveyone who made my special debut happen.

I also had the good fortune of attending 2 fantastic concerts this week – Idan Raichel and Tizmoret.

First, I have gotta come up with a way to be a part of Idan Raichel’s show because WOW! Such passion and intensity from every musician. They have a drummer who plays a drum submerged in a basin of water – sounding like a waterfall. It was very cool.

I have to give a special shout-out to my talented friends in Team T, who rocked the house tonight. Great job guys. What a weird experience it was sitting in the audience as apposed to standing on the stage. Don’t worry, I was mouthing every word/note from my seat, 5th row, center. Looking forward to many more years of singing “Change in My Life” at the finale with you all.

All the best,

Dov

DOV – LIVE at the Salute to Israel Parade

It’s official! I am going to be one of the lucky few acts performing at the Israeli Day Parade. So look out, cause I’m gonna be cruisin along the route in a large blue double decker bus. This is the first time my songs will be performed live, and it will all be done atop a giant moving stage. I am so excited. Will certainly have pics and videos up for all those who cant make it. And for those who will be there – its gonna be a great show and all for a great cause – the State of Israel.

DOV: The Gift is Finally Finished!!

After 1 and a half years of hard work, dedication, and a bit of luck, my debut album is finally finished. 10 tracks of Hebrew and English material – this album is like none other. As the first contemporary Jewish pop album, DOV: The Gift will delight audiences of all ages.

The title, which is also the name of the final tack on the CD, was chosen because as each of us knows, we must always be grateful for the things that truly matter in life. As my song states, “To make the most of this world that I live in, I’ll do the best with all the gifts I’ve been given. And I won’t make a list, of all the things I’m not. I’ll rise above what brings me down, with the gifts that I’ve got.”

It may still be a few weeks till we hit the stores, but that’s when the real fun begins and of course i will keep everyone updated on the progress. Looking forward to sharing this gift with my family, friends, and fans everywhere.
