What a Week

First and foremost, I must give thanks to everyone who planned, shopped, ironed t-shirts, printed posters, stickered,  hung banners, re-hung banners, drove the bus, handed out frisbees and notepads – all for my debut at the Salute to Israel Parade. (pics and video coming soon!!) I know I am truly blessed for all of you, and I hope you had a great time. I would love to hear from anyone who saw me at the parade – and I hope you all enjoyed the show.

Now for the behind the scenes juicy drama: When I got to the Parade, and glanced at my giant ride (awesome btw) I had no clue what was about to unfold. I put my cd with all the background music into the player…. and….. silence. My heart froze. The back-up cd i brought also didnt work. There I was, 5 minutes to showtime – and no music to sing along with. Thank G-d my brother found a store and bought a new diskman, and with seconds before we were about to roll, we had sound. What an experience it was. Thank you to eveyone who made my special debut happen.

I also had the good fortune of attending 2 fantastic concerts this week – Idan Raichel and Tizmoret.

First, I have gotta come up with a way to be a part of Idan Raichel’s show because WOW! Such passion and intensity from every musician. They have a drummer who plays a drum submerged in a basin of water – sounding like a waterfall. It was very cool.

I have to give a special shout-out to my talented friends in Team T, who rocked the house tonight. Great job guys. What a weird experience it was sitting in the audience as apposed to standing on the stage. Don’t worry, I was mouthing every word/note from my seat, 5th row, center. Looking forward to many more years of singing “Change in My Life” at the finale with you all.

All the best,

Dov

DOV – LIVE at the Salute to Israel Parade

It’s official! I am going to be one of the lucky few acts performing at the Israeli Day Parade. So look out, cause I’m gonna be cruisin along the route in a large blue double decker bus. This is the first time my songs will be performed live, and it will all be done atop a giant moving stage. I am so excited. Will certainly have pics and videos up for all those who cant make it. And for those who will be there – its gonna be a great show and all for a great cause – the State of Israel.

DOV: The Gift is Finally Finished!!

After 1 and a half years of hard work, dedication, and a bit of luck, my debut album is finally finished. 10 tracks of Hebrew and English material – this album is like none other. As the first contemporary Jewish pop album, DOV: The Gift will delight audiences of all ages.

The title, which is also the name of the final tack on the CD, was chosen because as each of us knows, we must always be grateful for the things that truly matter in life. As my song states, “To make the most of this world that I live in, I’ll do the best with all the gifts I’ve been given. And I won’t make a list, of all the things I’m not. I’ll rise above what brings me down, with the gifts that I’ve got.”

It may still be a few weeks till we hit the stores, but that’s when the real fun begins and of course i will keep everyone updated on the progress. Looking forward to sharing this gift with my family, friends, and fans everywhere.
