SONG LYRICS and MUSIC SAMPLES
ADON OLAM
•From a Liturgical Hym
Adon ‘olam, ‘asher malach b’terem kol y’tzir niv’ra L’yet na’asa v’cheftso kol, Azai melech sh’mo nikra V’acharey kich’lot hakol L’vado y’imloch nora.
Eternal Master, who reigned supreme, Before all of creation was drawn; When it was finished according to His will, Then the King’s Name was proclaimed; When this our world shall be no more, In majesty He still shall reign.
V’hu hayah v’hu hoveh V’hu yih’yeh b’tif’arah V’hu ‘echad v’eyn sheyni L’ham’shil lo l’hachbirah. B’li reishit b’li tach’liyt V’lo ha’oz v’hamis’rah V’hu kayli v’chai go’ali v’tsur chevli b’yet tsarah.
And he was, and he is, And he will be in glory. Alone is He, beyond compare, without division or ally; Without beginning, without end, to Him is the power and sovereignty. He is my God, my Living Redeemer, rock of my affliction in the enemy day.
V’hu nisi ‘umanos li, m’nat kosi b’yom ‘ekra. B’yado af’kid ruchi b’yet ‘ishan v’a'ira v’im ruchi g’viyati. Hashem li v’lo ‘ira.
He is my banner and refuge filling my cup the day I call. Into His hand I commit my spirit when I sleep, and I wake and with my spirit, my body. The Lord is with me, I will not fear.

Do it (act) for the sake of your name. Do it for the sake of your right hand. Do it for the sake of your Torah. Do it for the sake of your sanctity.
HU YIVARECH
A PRAYER FOR ISRAELI SOLDIERS
• Lyrics by DOV • Hebrew Text from Prayer recited on Shabbat Mornings
A mother sitting by the phone, shes scared and tired, she feels alone. Her only son is serving on the line. And as she waits, she cries out loud. She prays the he’s o.k., her child. The world joins in this prayer for him in time.
O Hashem, protect our men in arms. As they defend our land, shield them from harm. Hu yivarech et chayalei tzava hagana li Yisroel, Hu Yivarech.
May you bless the soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, may you bless.
A boy looks out at his front yard – a passing jeep filled with guards. And he knows he’s not much younger than these men. Some day soon he will be called to defend his country that he loves. And the world joins him in prayer again for them.
Ha’omdim al mishmar artzeinu, al mishmar artzeinu V’arech elokeinu, Hu Yivarech et Chalei tzavah.
may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Forces, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our God
SHIR HAMA’ALOT
•From Tehillim
Shir Hama’alot, l’David. Me’ayin yavo ezri. Ezri me’im Hashem, oseh shamayim va’aretz.
A song of ascents, to David. From where does my help come? My help comes from G-d, who made the heavens and earth.
Al yiten lamot raglecha, al yanum shomrecha. Henai lo yanum v’lo yishan, shomer Yisroel. Hashem yishmorcha mikol ra, yishmor et nafshecha, Hashem yoshmor tzaitcha ovoecha, me’ata v’ad olam.
He will not suffer a foot to be moved, he who keeps you will not sleep. Behold, he who guards Israel – he does not slumber or sleep. He guards us from evil and gaurds our souls. G-d will guard our goings and comings, from now until forever.
